Sea Kayak Guide Training

Sea kayak guide training for the project “Business Cooperation and Skills Improvement for the Development of Outdoor Tourism” was held in Bijela from 1^st to 5^th October, 2011.

This successfully organized five day training was conducted by the Croatian organization “Karzen&Karzen“ Ltd.

The training included instuction on:

<!--   Theoretical concepts in sea kayaking and information about kayak equipment

<!--   Sea kayak security elements

<!--   Responsibilities of sea kayak guide

<!--   Tour planning

<!--   Working with a group

<!--   Navigation

<!--   Paddling techniques (basic and advanced)

<!--   Rescue techniques

<!--   Fundamental aspects in biodiversity theory

This training was attended by 18 individuals, including members of outdoor clubs and people whose jobs or interests are related to outdoor tourism on the Montenegrin coast. All participants passed the exam organized at the end of the training and recieved the International Certificate of Sea Kayak Guide – Basic Level. Skill levels were indicated by a grade of one, two or three stars.

Sea kayaking is becoming increasingly more recognized in the touristic offering of the Montenegrin coast. Therefore, this training is the best way to contribute to strengthening of tour guide services for these high demand tourism activities. Contact information for each participant will be provided to Montenegrin travel agencies offering outdoor tourism packages.
