On Monday, January 29th 2007, the Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives granted the artistic photographs taken during Photography Adventure in October of 2006, to the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Protection, regional and local tourism organisations, National Parks of Montenegro, Archbishopric Crnogorsko-Primorska and Episcopate of Kotor in a ceremony at the Kuslevova Kuca Art Gallery in Podgorica.
Following their Photography Adventure travels in October 2006, the artists donated more than 1,000 of their photographs to the Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives, who in turn provided them to the above mentioned organisations and institutions at the opening of a ceremony and photo exhibition featuring the seven artists and highlighting 37 of their photographs on January 29, 2007 at Kuslevova Kuca Art Gallery in Podgorica.
After being exhibited in Podgorica from January 29th through February 4th, the exhibition travelled to the "Velimir Leković" gallery in Bar. In March of 2007 the photos were exhibited at the ITB Tourism Fair in Berlin providing an ideal opportunity to display these beautiful works of art, and to promote Montenegro to a wider audience. In mid-March the photo exhibition returned to Montenegro to tour art galleries in additional cities.
The Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives has over 1,000 photos from across Montenegro and all stakeholders from the tourism field that are interested can receive photos to use for tourism promotion. We hope the Photography Adventure Project will become a tradition in Montenegro and continue to bring together a large number of photographers from around the world to translate the landscape, culture and life our country into the timeless art of photography.
This second phase of the Photography Adventure Project was also initiated by the Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives, and supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and CHF International as part of their Community Revitalization through Democratic Action - Economy (CRDA-E) program. Promonte mobile telephone company was also the sponsor of the Photography Adventure exhibition.
