Meeting with GSTA & USAID / Round TablePosted on May 17, 2008
CSTI organized a one day visit to Kolasin for the representatives of the future USAID implementing organization in Montenegro - Global Sustainable Tourism Alliance (GSTA). GSTA is a partnership of organizations in the sustainable tourism field working together with USAID Missions to apply a holistic and market-driven approach to sustainable tourism development. The GSTA is currently implementing and promoting sustainable tourism practices in Ecuador, Ethiopia, Mali, and the Dominican Republic.
CSTI prepared a presentation focusing on organizational structure and a brief history of the organization, the main projects that have been realized, as well as the current projects and plans for the future. The presentation was followed by the round table that gathered several institutions (including national park representatives and local tourism organizations) and owners or managers of several SMEs from Bjelasica and the Komovi region.
After the round table the delegation visited the Kolasin Cultural Centre, Internet Center and Biogradska Gora National Park.
